They're easier to master than infantry, so it'll get you something to feel good about/switch to in the time of need while you tread the long and difficult road of mastering infantry. The awesome thing about this game is that even if you lose, the action is still fun. As a new player you're going to pretty much die all the time, and you're going to need a lot of practice to get better, hence, it's a good idea to play the fastest game mode with the most crazy action and least waiting for respawn as possible.
